Ready to start

Mark has spent today clearing the garage – just an old bike to cycle to mums tomorrow and the freezer to move into the kitchen.  I don’t think it has ever been this empty since we moved in.

The last of the boxes from the back went to Mum’s and Colin’s tonight and just the utility room to finish emptying before the builders hopefully start tomorrow.

One of the first walls to go will be the one we have recorded the kids heights over the years.  Here is them getting their last measurement – will need to find a new spot when the work is all done.

Mark has his Hut!

Forest Craft arrived at 9 yesterday morning to build the hut, only to discover that the hedge behind our fence stuck out too much.  So they had to go to their next job leaving Mark to collect hedge trimmers from his Dad and attack the hedge.

They came back at 5 with just enough light to finish with the help of a torch at the very end.  Mark has spent the morning organising ‘his’ hut (spot all his flags)  Loads of space for more.

AWM Telecom came round this morning to move our router from the back to the living room so will keep our wifi during the works and have access to the computer.  Just need to finish emptying the garage and kitchen cupboards and we are ready for work to start on Tuesday.

My table has gone

When we moved here 11 years ago one of our first purchases was an L shaped Ikea (gallant) table.  I remember using masking tape to check it would fit in.  It has been well used for the computer and many crafting projects.  However, recently it has become a dumping ground and we decided to create the living space we need we are no longer going to have space for this table.

My brother is working from home and has cleared space so he can use the table.  He popped round on Saturday night and we took the table to bits and transported it to his house.  I am sure we brought it back from ikea in our skoda but it just wouldn’t fit in the boot so in the end we had to tie the boot shut and he followed me to his house – but Marks reef knots were good!

It is just as well we managed to get it out the house as our builder popped round this afternoon to drop off some equipment and said they are going to start late next week.   Now need to speed up the clearing of the garage and back room as his plan is to put a stud wall where our breakfast bar is so he can work without disturbing us in the short term.
